Ever felt like a bowling pin, where the ball is a hurricane?
August 6, 2012
Game on! The Atlantic hurricane season is in full swing, with one after another of these Whirling Dervishes headed like mean bowling balls right at the Eastern Seaboard—and you and me.
Looks like Ernesto is a gutter ball as far as Florida is concerned, but now Florence is spinning toward the Bahamas. Then there is Gordon, Helene and Isaac. Each one feeds off of a warmer ocean and will pack a bigger punch, with Miami and Tampa Bay in its sights. In the next few weeks, we could see a strike or two!
Why should you care? Beyond personal harm, if you are in the direct mail marketing business and your printing plant is one of those bowling pins in the hurricane’s line of sight, your marketing could become soggy toast. Salt water isn’t good for either the printing presses or the paper.
No worries if your printer is PrimeNet Direct Marketing Solutions. We’re hunkered down in a Cat 3 building with a Cat 5 data center inside. The show goes on, no matter if palm trees, houses and sailboats are sucked up, spun around and deposited in our parking lot.
