Some revealing information about the GREAT REVEAL
June 19, 2012
We’re not talking about some exciting Hollywood gossip, but rather about a very revealing way of presenting your products or services in direct mail marketing.
It’s called the “reveal fold” or “gate fold.”
People have to open it up to see what is inside, sort of like opening a letter, but faster and, for you, cheaper than sending out an envelope with a letter inside.
When used with direct mail marketing, the gate fold can boost response 3% to 5%. How’s that for some pretty revealing information?! That’s why we just replaced our gate folder with a state-of-the-art gate folder that can handle variable sizes without compromising speed.
Clients have used the gate fold to show doors of a house (or French doors) opening to reveal the things you want to sell: carpet, furniture, home theaters, family rooms, window coverings, tile, kitchens, whatever.
Other examples:
• Event or contest invitations, where the front is a treasure chest that opens.
• Business handouts, where the gate fold doubles as a pocket folder.
• New product launches, for revealing news about your latest product addition
• Menus, or take-home menus. The front of the brochure can be an image of the front of your restaurant, or a pie, that when opened reveals your dessert menu.
