The Postal Service is always updating and streamlining their services. Here are 3 new ways that can help your business stay on top of this ever changing landscape.
Barcoded Domestic Return Receipts
Recently, an Intelligent Mail package barcode was added to the front and back of the new PS Form 3811, Return Receipt. The barcode is linked to the applicable extra service purchased for the item.
The Postal Service understands that some mailers have not yet depleted their older non-barcoded version of the return receipt, so a new temporary Label 3811-TB, Return Receipt Tracer Label, is being provided to all Post Offices. This process will allow the customer to deplete their older versions of the return receipt, allow the acceptance clerk to scan and adhere the 3811-TB to the back of the return receipt, and increase the end-to-end visibility.
Customers are encouraged to use return receipt dated April 2015 as soon as possible. Questions can be directed to shippingservices@usps.gov.
Collect on Delivery (COD) Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT)
Collect on Delivery (COD) Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) allows cash or PIN debit card remittances to be transferred electronically to the COD mailer’s financial institution account within two business days of receipt of funds.
Call the National Customer Support Center at 877-264-9693 to sign up, obtain required forms and get more information on the USPS COD EFT payment option. Questions can be directed to shippingservices@usps.gov.
What do Paul Newman, Ingrid Berman, and Elvis Presley have in Common?
The Postal Service recently announced upcoming editions of Forever stamps picturing some of our favorite icons.
USPS and Sweden Post are jointly issuing the Ingrid Bergman stamp. The award-winning actress will be honored as the 19th stamp in the Legends of Hollywood series. The stamp will go on sale August 20.
More than just a film icon, Paul Newman used his success as an actor, writer, producer and director to advance his philanthropic endeavors funding charitable causes in an effort to make the world a better place. The stamp will go on sale September 18.
With the newest edition to the Music Icon series, Priscilla Presley will join Postmaster General Megan Brennan in dedicating the new Elvis Forever stamp on the morning of Aug. 12 at Graceland in Memphis as part of this year’s Elvis Week celebration. The stamp will go on sale on August 12.
