What is Aqueous Coating?
Aqueous coating provides a surface which is resistant to dirt and fingerprints. This coating will improve the durability of materials which are handled often, or mailers like postcards as they go through the mail processing center and out into the world. Aqueous gives a luxurious, high-end look to brochures, catalog covers, and presentation-type materials.
Aqueous coatings are available in many variations, but the most common categories, from most to least glossy, are gloss, satin and matte.
When applied to the entire printed piece, aqueous coatings provide substantial scuff-resistance, and due to the water based nature of the coating, presents an environmentally-friendly option.
